There are two parties fighting against each other, the defendant and the state. And who has the better weapons is going to win. Being innocent might being helpful for the defendant during the investigation, just like being white or middle class. Or being rich, of course. But when the case goes to court, one party has already decided that you’re guilty. At that point it’s only being rich what can save your ass.
So you say it’s just how the system is supposed to work, right? It’s designed that way.
