But really though, the US can extract any data or other concession they want from Amazon already, it would only change the perceptions of foreign countries who aren’t paying attention. Hell I’d be more surprised if a government-run amazon gave my information to the DoD/NSA than the current one. There’s regulations and more ability to conceal it if they buy the data from third parties than collect it themselves.
