Discovery got me back into Star Trek, I’ve really enjoyed the whole show. I typically don’t find the temporal storylines interesting but accepted it and am OK with the one big jump. Looking forward to S5 and going to miss the show when it shuts down. They could have kept going but I’m guessing maybe viewership is down.
Same here, I always liked Star Trek but kind of figured it was mainly for nostalgia nowadays until Discovery came along & all this new Trek related stuff started appearing.
With Discovery the time jump stuff was a bit of a stretch but I got used to it so it wasn’t a big deal. Plus the individual episodes were done well IMO. My only gripe with the show is that it felt like they took the storyline maybe too seriously at times.
I wouldn’t mind that it kept going a few more seasons but I’m happy that they’re getting one last season & can use that to wrap things up hopefully.
Same… but to be blunt, the bar was disappointingly low for the series (with the exception of the mirror universe episodes, which I thought were a ton of fun).
That’s when I bailed as well. I like the progression of S1 to S2, then straight into SNW. I just pretend like Discovery ended when they jumped into the wormhole.
The ship flip/spin thing is so bad. I realize warp drive and a lot of the tech is unrealistic in Star Trek but the ship flip/roll thing was dumber than the time travel itself.
Oh I loved the mushroom plot. It was novel and exciting. I was looking forward to more exploration in the Mushroomverse and then they went to post-Utopian dystopia instead and rebooted the entire cast.
Discovery was still going?

Discovery is a dark drama but there’s room in trek for it, but I won’t lie I’m watching SNW and I like it better

Maybe I should give it another go. Hmm.
apparently? I stopped watching a while ago
Yeah I had a hard time getting into the time leap thing. It just stopped being interesting.
I am actually enjoying it more post time leap.

Did you like it from the get go or did it take a while before you enjoyed it?
I watched a few episodes but gave up, don’t know if a few was two or five though.
The time leap? It took a few episodes. But I enjoy seeing how the tech has advanced in the future, and I like the story line.

I only just discovered SNW the a week or two ago. It feels really different, but the characters are the same. Strange is a fitting name.
I like it though. I enjoyed Discovery too, just lost interest with the time leap. Maybe it got better after a bit but it just didn’t capture me.

It just wasn’t exciting at that point.
