Why is the play button so tiny now? Not to mention the bloat of this launcher takes ages for it to just open so you can stare at the ads a bit longer.

Use Prism Launcher.
Looks a lot like MultiMC at first glance (it’s a fork of it apparently). What are the differences, should I switch between the two?
well the multimc dev was a piece og shit and the the project split and then the other project was run by a malware dev and now we have prism!
Just click on the java edition tab on the left, it should open on that tab every time after that
I refused to get a Microsoft account for Minecraft and it was a good decision.
