Looks gorgeous, like the original. I’m curious if it’ll be harder than the original, being in full 3D. With the ability to freely run around everywhere, it might be easier to miss something than if you only jumped between predetermined points. Maybe not, I can’t remember if everything important in Riven was visually distinctive, or if there are things hidden in the background that are easy to overlook.

Nice, shame it looks as basic as it does, not much reason to play it over the OG on GOG.

      What?

It is completely redone in full 3D, even with VR support!

The animations look on par with the original zero particles or intricacies just mostly simple transforms and rotations, There is so much overhead in this type of game and the OG’s really were graphical showcases, even if they we heavily pre-rendered we now have that tech and with them using UE5 I would have liked to see a lot more with pushing the genre forward this looks more on par with a mod/fan project.

          Agreed.

Maybe the trailer leaves out a lot that you’d notice in game but it def didn’t make me scream “holy crap” the way Myst and Riven did back then

I gotta disagree. This looks amazing. The ability to free roam this world is huge on its own. From the previews I’ve read there are tweaks to the world and new puzzles sprinkled in. This looks like a great way to introduce a new generation to Riven without tarnishing the original.

Plus the originals are indeed still available to enjoy if that’s your thing.
