A while ago, on Threads, I found SNL offering advice on how to deal with gifted items. She seems to believe if she mentions them in her stories she doesn’t need to disclose to the CRA. I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works.

The circle of friends and gifting is so interesting because this is exactly what happens with the RHWC - they are all getting the exact same stuff at the exact same time! How does it work with her unlimited Tim Hortons card? Does she have to declare all the purchases made with the magic card as gifts?

ETA - I’m sure she funnels through her company and that’s why she has one. I really want to know if The Little Pink Cottage is a separate company

Tim Hortons is under the Burger King umbrella, which are on the BDS list. Any influencer that is pushing these products is actively contributing to funding genocide.People barely able to afford things are taking it to the streets di help strangers across the world, and influencers are pushing genocide complicit and genocide funding companies. I honestly don’t care what any of these influencers look like, I am literally here to help at least one or two people see how environmentally destructive, and how ignorant they are about atrocities all over the globe. They can salad laugh and podcast all they want to take care of their mental health, and I’ll be over here calling them out for destroying the environment (with multiple flights each month, wasteful products), funding the genocide happening in Palestine, and buying new tech products contributing to modern slave labour in Congo. I hope a few influencers do stumble upon these pages, and rather than be so self-centered and self-absorbed they only focus on how people are criticizing their looks (which they really shouldn’t) they see that there are people who are furious for the lack of care they have for real world issues.

I admire and support your fight for awarensss. I really think Influencers adopt the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil way of life because it gets them the highest returns. This one, in particular, stands for nothing. I noticed she recently added something in her bio supporting children in Palestine but that’s just because her management company told them all to do it. She hasn’t said one word about any important subject facing society today

Thank you but it’s what everyone should be doing. I don’t think these influencers realize that people are screenshoting and screen video recording a lot of their pages daily as receipts for their lack of support for basic human rights (it’s how a lot of us know the exact date when all of their links went up for Gaza).

I mean she’s had a bestie who used to travel and work in places like Kenya. I would think she could at least talk about Doctors without Borders, at least! There is a group of us who all know each other, IRL, who have been calling out influencers on other platforms, and it seems that even the people adjacent to these influencers who HAD been posting about these things (and sharing stories) will come to their defense, and block people who call out influencers. Honestly, I am of the frame of mind that we can go into any Snark community and find like-minded individuals who are going to call people out for things that actually really matter like ripping people off, being deceitful, and not giving a shit about humanity. The only one I really care about to be honest, is the not giving a shit about humanity, because I refuse to give influencers any money. When my family is grown, I know they will look back and be proud of their parents for what they have done. If I have grandchildren in the future, I know they will be proud of our family using their voice consistently. It’s been interesting to watch people adjacent to her decline in their stance on important world issues too. I truly do hope that she does see these things. I don’t call people out for their bodies or what they look like. I do advocate, fundraise and protest.

TBP if you are reading these: please please please acknowledge the genocide in Palestine. Please stop going to these stupid Apple events every year because require mining which uses slave labor in Congo. And TBP if you are reading this, There is honestly still hope for a lot of people who have been losing faith in your “authenticity” but it requires an immediate shift to help others with your platform. You do have the power (people do seem to think the most important thing about you is your looks, so embrace that! Your followers flock to you- say something powerful).

One of the other Guelph shiners husband is a doctor so talking about Doctors Without Borders is the very least she could do. Your family will be proud when they realize you use your voice and don’t just sit idly by

I fully agree with you. If people who don’t have much disposable income can make these changes to benefit others, often spending time, energy and money to do so, influencers should too. I recently started paying a little more for skincare so I can support a (hopefully) more ethical company and I’m glad to do so. How these people can be so ignorant and selfish is beyond me.
