I’ve been making a good amount of beans lately, usually for use in salads/on tacos/sandwiches. So dry applications. Accordingly, I’ve been draining them and saving them dry, but I’m wondering - what actually is the best way to store beans? Should I be saving them in the bean water or does it not really matter?
In your stomach, yim yum
Do you realize what you’ve done!? You have awoken them by posting this!
You can freeze cooked beans in ziplocs or other containers
how would you thaw them then? Just in the microwave or something?
I would thaw in the fridge overnight then heat up in the microwave.
I shilled vittles vaults already.
I have 50lbs of dry beans in one and 25lbs of whole wheat flour in another. Tape a reusable dessication packet on the inside of the lid and party on.
Great northern BTW. Most versatile bean if you ask me. Have 5lbs each of pinto and kidney in rubbermaids.
Lentils don’t even need pre soak and I can make them at the same time as my rice.
I save them in bean water and rinse before use. I don’t know which way is better
