still annoyed at a white person i know for implying black people cant like musicals THE WIZ LITERALLY EXIST.
On the subject of white people stereotyping black people, a few days ago, I got a honky online who told me that I’m lying about being black because I’m vegan.
He seemed like the kind of eDgY asshat to make “blaCK PEOplE lovE kFc 🤣😂🤣😂” jokes, though, so what would I expect?

i said that black theater kids exist and love musicals and they were like “yeah but they are theater kids” meaning if they are theater kids they aren’t really black. i went on a 20 minute rant after that and he didnt apologize or anything he just stopped talking.
All ima say is, I’ve seen many musicals both on screen and live, and no performance has ever wowed me as much as Jennifer Holiday’s 1982 Tony performance of “And I am telling you”.
What a brainsoup take. I’d also argue Hamilton brought musicals back to the mainstream.
