Assange was being held to American laws without being “protected” by the American constitution because the American repressive state apparatuses are not bound to uphold the highest laws of their own country.

There is no squaring that circle. It’s just pure, uncut hegemony.

It’s incredibly sad though. I am happy he is free, but he should have been released years ago. The US had no case against him but the normal rule of law just didn’t apply in his case. He has now had to admit guilt, setting the precedent for this sort of shit in the future. Also he cannot sue for his treatment.

They made him pay over £500,000 for that flight he just took too. It’s fucking criminal. It’s an end, but it is extremely bittersweet.

This also gives precident that the United States can attack a Journalist - a non US Citzen with non US loyalties or oaths in a foriegn country that isn’t even his own and brand them across the Empire. Hold and tourture them in a 3rd party prison and then strip away rights for the rest of his life all for the crime of reporting the Empire’s crimes.

This should send shockwaves of horror across all of the Anglosphere and their client states.

The freedom of speech, press, right to write is effectively DEAD with this plea.. Fascism won.
