I can’t believe it, it’s like coming home! Slide was my first Reddit app and it was the first app I actually put some money on because I loved it so much. Happy that you’re back at it!
I managed to log in (sopuli.xyz), so that worked for me. Giving app permissions didn’t work though. I’ll be following this project closely :)

FYI both release and debug fail to install on my Galaxy S22+ on Android 13.

The play protect thing i cant do anything about, as yet, but as you say, you can bypass it. – Im trying to figure out what might be wrong otherwise, ive uploaded another apk to the same release, could you or anyone else try?

I was able to log in!Only one issue, a message appears telling me I denied storage permission. However, clicking YES does not resolve the issue, the message reappears multiple times. Eventually it goes away or when I select “NO”. I looked in the Settings app and this app does not appear to request any permissions though.
I went ahead and submitted the app for review for Play Protect, hope you don’t mind. Might help with the issue of it warning it’s an unrecognized app.

All working for me now! Great stuff and really happy to see such a familiar UI again! Its definitely usable. Really great work.
One immediate thing for me. The app did not ask for Storage Permissions, but when you get to the main app, it immediately shows a warning message that storage permission was denied and do I want to give it to it.
Clicking yes just pops the message again. Clicking no goes through to the app.
If I got to settings and click on “Select image/gift save location” it says “your app has not been granted the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission”.
When I got to the apps settings in Android (I.e. App Info) and permissions, I can’t give it storage permissions.

I installed the
secondattemptpackage and it launches and loads posts, but it does not yet function for logging in. Great work so far though, this has me very excited!Can i ask what Android version you’re on?
Also, did the other apks fail, for you?
Same here - first APKs failed to install, this did but login isn’t working.
Android: 12 SKQ1.211006.001 MIUI 13.0.1
Do you have any more detail on that - is it just not doing anything, or does it throw an error, or crash (or see what’s actually happening in logcat if you know how)

Nope. No errors or crashes. It looks like it’s working, with the line going across the top, but then that stops. I can click the arrow to start again but the same thing happens. If I go back I see I’m not logged in.
(or see what’s actually happening in logcat if you know how)

Now this sounds suspicious! It’s 10 characters long, for now.
Not to worry, that’s probably enough, I’ll investigate and/or come up with a way to find more detail
Same as others reported, I often install apps that way but with that apk I get "You can’t install the app on your device’
