Metroid Prime Hunters Online.
I wouldn’t mind trying, but I was looking at the steps do get it working and that seems like such a drag…
These are the summarized steps:
-
Use a passwordless (for easiness, if you are concerned about security you can implement a blacklist I guess, or if you have an old WEP capable device you are “good to go” but really WEP keys are just as insecure as no password nowadays lol) hotspot from your smartphone or desired device and join such a network with a WFC cartridge such as MPH.
-
Edit your recently added network and input these DNS in the settings:
Primary DNS: 167.86.108.126 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 (or 1.1.1.1 I think it doesn’t matter).
- Profit (?
Really is that easy, Wiimmfi already patches the games on the go, you can even do this with original cartridges.
If you are willing to test it I’m here to help.
Well, my phone providers are both shit so I don’t imagine it working well. But yea I guess I can try. Do you have matrix or something?
Btw the other day someone told me of a discord where people gather to play this. I’ve not kept it, but it should be in comments under one of my reviews here or at patient gamers.

Yeah I can see that, and on top of that stock Nintendo Server were never great, these custom servers have their huge amount of bugs on their own lol, but mostly you can arrange some plays.
The DS doesn’t require too much bandwidth to play online, the other day I played for hours and it only used like 8 mbs lol, I think is more probable that the custom server are acting up than your connection being a problem.

That guy probably was me haha.
Okaaay so I tried it, found a player and got wrecked… 🤷♂️ can’t say I didn’t expect it.
It does feel like a Quake game indeed.
I never played Quake, but I get the concept from it, the quick game play, no cover, different weapons, yeah, I think it is more fit to it.
Gladly you made it work, and I’m amazed you found someone in the wild lol, I usually only play organizing with others to meet up 😅
And yeah, this game as many other DS titles have a huge learning curve to master, that’s why only “veterans” are online I guess.
I actually wondered if it wasn’t you.
I also wonder if I could’ve fared better with a decent internet connection, as high ping is known to attract railgun shots. But I mean, people who play a game for possibly up to… 17 years? And know it inside and out, will wreck someone who barely plays anything or uses the device. Just like with actual Quake, you can’t do much as a newb.
lol, yeah that wasn’t me, I actually got my ass beaten today but I arranged that.
I have been playing a lot too (not recently) and I still miss certain map spots, you really need to know your field to get all the perks too.
