After a good training session today I think Bot #001 is ready to try posting a new daily thread tonight. Pinning does not seem to be working so that bit will still need to be done later, but I’m pretty confident the basic post will work. If if does not work (it should be at midnight) someone will have to make one manually again.

I will need to do some work on the format and exactly what to say - unfortunately the bot is not very imaginative.

Had a great day at the op shops. Got special edition copies of Deliverance and The Fifth Element with commentaries and docos, a michael franti cd, a packet of jewellery findings with some top quality crystals for $1( will string a necklace later tonight ) and a good jumper for doing calligraphy in as it won’t show ink stains. Plus a cool genu-wine vintage marcasite ring. Nice . 😀

I am home from the hospital. Took a nasty fall on my carpeted stairs. I have hairline fractures on my L1, L2 and L3 on my vertebrae. so a lot of rest needed.

I opened the balcony door to look at the lasers in the sky and there was a cat meowing on my balcony (note I am 11 floors up). I’ve seen this kitty before but last time, I had my door open and I didn’t notice it had come in to check out my apartment and it ran out when I turned around and noticed it.

This time it meowed and invited itself in for a poke around. I think it checked out every inch of my apartment then left politely (I left the door open so it knew it could leave). It turned back up 30 minutes later so I opened the door again and it again came in meowing at me and rubbing against my leg, and exploring more. I felt it had probably explored enough after 15 minutes and walked it out but it’s still sitting outside my door looking at me.

    My new best friend.

cat tax.. picture is the best one I managed to get. Image of grey and white British shorthair cat

There we go… went over the road for 5 minutes. Snapped a photo of some fire. Now I can say I attended the Firelight Festival 2023.

For another hour. Trams are free to Docklands! Not sure about the 86 running but the Collins St ones should be I’d think.

What’s the significance of fires on Territory Day? I’m not familiar at all with what goes on up in the NT

        Edit: ah, fireworks. Googled it.

I’m thinking pizza and a movie. Might roll with 1981’s Excalibur. With a saucy little Helen Mirren as Morgana le Fay (and many others ☺️

oh she is gorgeous! i have a massive soft spot for her. She’s one of those actors that I think about sometimes, like 'they were in everything when I was growing up but were never the headline act, I hope theyre ok now" kinda way.

Wow, have to get used to the new DT home and how it looks!

Does anyone know what stores like Myer do with all the clearance/reduced to clear stuff that has been reduced for many weeks? I’m eyeing off a few things that are reduced a fair bit but still too pricey for me right now. Do they eventually get reduced further?

      Welcome!

I don’t know about Myer but when I’ve been looking for outdoor gear and other stuff it rarely goes any lower. I think it really depends what you’re looking at. Women’s clothing? Bras? I used to go discount hunting for bras…

Your post about a beaver seems as good a place as any to complain about my current state of ovary pain.

Missing 90% of the pipes and they still kick my arse 😑

Beavers are majestic animals that hold a sacred place in the hearts of all Canadians.

Also in French beaver is ‘castor’, which is where the term castration comes from. Back in the day, the act of castration was performed using beaver teeth, as they were sharp and widely available. So a castrato singer technically means ‘one who’s voice is created by a beaver’

None of that is true (except for castor meaning beaver) but thanks for reading.

Saw Indiana Jones. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible either. Some of the anti aging effects though were a bit video gameish for my tastes.
