When the developers replied to the July 19 email, Yelp sent a deck of pricing tiers with base pricing starting from $229 per month for a limit of 1,000 API calls per day.
I’m surprised that Yelp is still even a thing. It’s been widely known for years that it’s not an objective source for reviews.
I learned a lot today. Yelp still exists and it has an api.
They cold call businesses. The winning strategy is to just say you might be interested in 5 years. Then you only have to deal with it every 5 years.
I’m trying to think what the API would even be for? I don’t think I’ve ever seen Yelp extensions…or integrations…?
I can’t think of anything either
Maybe stores can update their open hours? Or pull reviews to be reviewed internally?
Be need a OSM type replacement with honest reviews with some sort of verification. Maybe have it tied to an OSM account.
