Still making my slow progress on My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom. Actually opened it without having been in the proximity of another person for once, I’m proud of myself. Gaming is an activity I used to pursue on my own initiative but as an adult who still enjoys them I often need to be peer-pressured into it ^^;
On the common route, it felt surprisingly hard to figure out which answer would give affection points for which guy, but once you’re actually on their route it feels a lot easier to figure out which response gives affection points.
Also, Nicol looks somehow different from his anime counterpart, cannot describe how. Maybe more submissive?
Would a romanceable character of an otome game do something criminally bad?

I want to ask her what she played in her past life haha, and where I can get me some of those games. I’m more aware of localized English games being dark and probably more likely to have this kind of LI.
Very endearing that in flashbacks to a Fortune Lover sequel we see a smug portrait for Katarina being a villain because she could not stand Geordo and Maria being happy together and was plotting against their happiness, but for the actual Katarina she is using the smug portrait for thinking about Maria and Geordo being into each other.
Geordo and Keith route spoilers
Geordo kisses her after fear of losing her and saying he wanted to go at her pace/let her figure out her feelings, but with this new guy advancing and having made a move (spending the entire day with her/pushing her onto a bed) he cannot wait any longer. Another Season 2 parallel to Katarina getting kissed! The other one I have seen so far is in Keith’s route, where an injured Keith finally makes a move on a very concerned-for-his-safety Katarina by kissing her before promptly falling asleep.
Geordo route spoilers
It is very interesting that Geordo’s bad end involves her being stabbed with a sword like on his actual bad end in Fortune Lover, though this time it is not Geordo’s sword, and like Keith in Fortune Lover it is implied he uses magic against the person who keeps trying to get between him and his love.
Ran into 4 typos in quick succession on the Geordo route in an emotionally significant section. Whyyyy.
Given Geordo’s whole “dark-hearted prince” and his thing about smiling and pretending and Katarina changing that… that actually gets addressed in this route and it’s somewhat satisfying to see, especially because the way it is handled here could have been handled as an annoying cliche misunderstanding that does not strike at any important issues in other media.
