Well it was nice not knowing all of you
Who this?
What are you all doing in my house?
There was, however, no clear increase in the risk of dementia associated with adult ADHD among those who received psychostimulant medication, and evidence of reverse causation was mild.
Actual journal here
Thanks, that’s what I was going to find. Shame none of us concentrate past the first two replies, but hey.
I mean, we do have ADHD, how long do you expect us to be able to concentrate
I read the abstract and I can’t understand if medicated ADHD adults don’t show the increase the unmedicated ones did or if the medication did not make a difference (increase or decrease) compared with unmedicated adults.
So are medicated ADHDers statistically similar to unmedicated ADHDers or non ADHDers?
My understanding is that medicated were not found to have the same increase in risk.
Fuck
Fuck
I forgot what I was going to say
Yay, something else to look forward to besides joint replacement surgeries and more arthritis.
What? Adhd affects joints?
Yeah, we tend to smoke more of them.
3+ decades of dozens of prescriptions, none gave me a moment’s peace.
On the other hand, my little vape has saved the day more times than I can count.
Not that I know of… however, I’m a disabled veteran. Jumping out of planes definitely affects joints.
It’s pretty closely connected to EDS/Hypermobility. For many this will be mild though and go unnoticed.
POTS, MCAS (gi issues, allergies) in the ‘chronic triad’
yeah I looked up after and saw that there is an increased correlation between ADHD and hypermobility, I do have Hypermobility.
OP can you add “unmedicated ADHD” to the title to be a bit more (but still not totally) accurate
Oh. Yay.
Well fuck. I’d have been okay not knowing this.
soon you’ll forget anyway
Nice gif
Not surprised. My memory is already non existent. Lol. Maybe it’s the weed. Maybe it’s the adhd. Who knows.
Blame it on my ADD, baby!
SAIL!
Weed actually ended up improving my memory when I started if only by having tons of practice FINDING THE FUCKDAMN LIGHTER!
Man, I got enough to worry about, I don’t need this
That’s the beauty of dementia, one of the symptoms is that you usually don’t realize you’re experiencing it.
My grandma passed away from dementia a couple of years back. My mom has symptoms of ADHD. I am diagnosed with ADHD. The only person in the family to get diagnosed and actively treating with meds and stuff.
I wonder if knowledge and meds can stave of dementia.
Every week there is an article linking dementia to this and that. I really can’t keep up with it anymore. At this point everything causes dementia.
I wouldn’t stress out of it. You might learn that stress is what causes dementia.
Actually yes there was a study showing that recently
Fuckin super.
Bundle that with my history of head trauma and I’m basically guaranteed to get it at this point.
yay.
Good news then. A history of head trauma means you’re more likely to die early of a stroke from a random blood clot than to live long enough and experience dementia.
woo…
Well might as well live a healthy active lifestyle from this point on hoping for the beat outcome
Gotta stack that deck in my favor Though basically everything before 25 could probably be best described as a path of self destruction, the future still isn’t written. I’ve been on the up and up for 6 years now.
It can be done and I believe you can do it.
Good luck!
at this point, just add prions to your diet
At this point it probably wouldn’t change much lol
Tbh ya all don’t need to panic like that. While the finding appears to be sound what it does not tell is what happens in the cohort in 5/10/15 years. It is possible that an adult diagnosis of ADHD may only lead to an earlier onset and that the rest of the cohort will develop it in the same ratio. Until the cohort is not all through it doesn’t really say anything.
Besides they appear to have excluded anyone who was already diagnosed with ADHD to begin with and only assessed people who were diagnosed as adult.
What’s the risk of looking like Dormammu?
Well that’s just fucking great.
Nice like I dont forget enough things ready. I am going to be so much fun when the dementia hits
