The new firmware for the Atari 400 Mini has been released, adding to its ever-growing collection of nostalgic games. This latest software update incorporates the classic game Caverns of Mars.

Originally developed in 1981 for Atari 8-bit computers, Caverns of Mars has gained a bit of a following thanks to its engaging gameplay, where players navigate a spaceship through vast caverns, battling enemies and collecting fuel to continue their descent. Known for being one of the best-selling titles from Atari’s mail-order division, the Atari Program Exchange (APX), it later became an official product, released on both diskette and cartridge.

With this update, the total number of pre-installed games on the Atari 400 Mini has risen to 26.
