A teaser for a fan port of Castlevania: Dracula’s Curse has been made by Pigsy, the developer behind the Genesis/Mega Drive version of Symphony of the Night. However, this isn’t a full remake. Pigsy plans to create a demo instead, offering some practice with 8-bit to 16-bit graphical upgrades.

“I’m not planning to do a full remake of the game,” Pigsy says. “Earlier this year, I did a lot of work upgrading the GG Shinobi graphics from Game Gear to Mega Drive and before I go back to touch them up I wanted to get more 8-bit to 16-bit graphical upgrading practice…”

Fans hope that Pigsy might reconsider his decision for a full remake. This screenshot offers a taste of what could have been in the late '80s/'90s gaming world, as Nintendo and other companies were reluctant to make games for platforms beyond their own.
