    Explanation: The Roman Emperor Carus led a successful campaign to capture the Sassanid Persian capital of Ctesiphon - the recurring dream goal of many a Roman Emperor! Shortly thereafter he died, by some accounts, by being struck by a freak bolt of lightning while in his tent. There are other theories, but they’re not as fun.
