Former president repeats false claims that immigrants in Ohio were eating pets
Donald Trumpās false claim that immigrants inĀ OhioĀ are abducting pets and eating themĀ during Tuesdayās presidential debateĀ was quickly slapped down by ABC News moderator David Muir.
WhileĀ on the debate stage in Philadelphia, the former president asserted thatĀ Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were āeating dogsāĀ and āeating the catsā while pushing his anti-immigration policies.
āWhat they have done to our country by allowing these millions and millions of people to come into our country and look at whatās happening to the towns all over the United States,ā the former president said.
āIn Springfield, theyāre eating the dogs. The people that came in. Theyāre eating the cats. Theyāre eating ā theyāre eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is whatās happening in our country, and itās a shame,ā the former president claimed.
As he spoke, Harris looked in disbelief at the former president before laughing.
Her disbelief at him as he said that is my favorite part of the debate, hands down.
I called it a while ago.
Nothing gets under Trumpās skin more than being laughed at by a woman.
He wants to be this big scary bully, and laughing at someone like that is the worse you can do to them. I havenāt watched the whole thing yet. But from Daily Show Kamala just alternated between that and looks of disbelief
I noticed after the initial laugh Harris had to temper her smile a bit to evoke serious disappointment in Trumpās unhingedness and not look like she is agreeing. I bet Harris was absolutely ecstatic in that moment seeing how effectively he took the bait she laid for him.
