In 8th grade my social studies teacher showed The Notebook to the class to help teach us about WWII. The movie had less than 5 minutes of content about the war; the rest was only tangentially related at best because it was set in that time period.

day 1 of ap european history. the fascist that teaches the class asks a girl to walk across the front of the classroom for a demonstration. arm-in-arm, he announced to the class “you are my prostitute.” one of the only girls in this particular class, of course. the point was about rennaissance italian cultural norms.

this teacher was an entirely insane piece of shit that should not be around children. like, he just sort of used his job to do fascist agitprop to high school students basically, and to get government healthcare. actually made his money from a sit-and-forget freight shipping business. to the best of my knowledge, still has as “who is john galt?” bumper sticker at the back of his classroom. currently in local office in the town i’m from. actual psychopath mfer.

we had a substitute teacher like this. he’d break out articles and emails from his yahoo inbox featuring folders for obama birther shit, and other such racist categories.

To learn about xylem and phloem in biology we were made to stand in a circle, split into two groups (xylem and phloem) and act out the functions of xylem and phloem. I don’t remember exactly what we had to do, I just remember there was a lot of hand-waving and squatting
