The discrete units are more satisfying to me, because I can’t miss that there’s more. Some games your bar grows so very slowly you can’t even tell and it doesn’t have the same oomph.

I have a lot of them (including ds1,2) because I so desperately want to like them… but I don’t, generally :) Someday I’ll be motivated to work through my frustration. They await me. And it will be GLORIOUS! (Tho if you list off souls-like games, I’ve probably played several I just don’t identify that way…)
