Peertube’s new features sound really nice for server management. Might even make videos load even faster.

- Separating audio and video streams. This is a big deal, for users that switch between different video qualities. Because the audio won’t have to be redownloaded just the video portion of a video. Might even save a good chunk of bandwidth compared to not having this feature.
You can also do an audio only stream, meaning unlike many Youtube music videos audio streaming doesn’t always have to be wasting bandwidth for nothing.
- Set up Youtube-dl for smoother imports.

Peertube is looking to be a good viable alternative to Youtube, while not an outright replacement and seems to be doing a good job.
