I’m going to make myself popular by suggesting we kill people who price-gouge during a hurricane, as well as those who defend them.

If you are a maoist, you can tune out because you already know what I’m going to say. If you’re not, kindly face the wall.

ah yes, no possible way to limit how much someone can buy of a scarce good in an emergency. only the price.

this is why mother made us pay for cookies, because there was simply no other way to divide them fairly.

Oof. I hadn’t heard much about John other than he has some good takes regarding software development, but this is awful.

  • This feels like and I know someone mentioned this already but I have to say it… like they have never heard of rationing before, and they need to invent a whole new less effecent system to ration that both bennifits the rich more AND allows the rich to get richer

The mental gymnastics some people will do to justify sociopathy. Money only means anything because of organized force that says it does. Markets have no power without that. These pontificating purveyors of psychopathy would have their positions punctured in an instant without police to back up their pricing.

Jfc. You could do this OR, hear me out, crazy idea, directly ration the gas instead of doing some roundabout free market fuckery.

So apparently the only way you can filter out these people who don’t “give enough fucks” about petrol is by raising prices. Otherwise no-fuck-giving people will endure an hour long line just to be able to buy this petrol they don’t really need.

  • So what I love here is that they do not seem to understand is by using money as a mesure of anything, you have to start with the assumption that some people naturaly have WAY MORE of it than others

also in the US the car is a nessesity WTF are you talking about poor people do not have cars
