I have to wonder how long they can run on community goodwill. With handhelds like the Steam Deck and similar, surely it’s gotta be only a matter of time until they have to change or die.

Personally I’d recommend supporting indie devs as they’re closer to “locally produced” than triple-A dev entities like Ubisoft, EA, Nintendo

I’d argue that they’re more likely to morph into a patent troll if they ever do get anywhere close to their death throes.
