Journalists around the world expressed outrage Monday over the Israeli military’s killing of a teenage Palestinian reporter who continued showing the world the destruction of Gaza despite threats to his life—and at the Western media’s silence on the story.

People who want to resist need to be smarter than this. You can’t have 100% guts and not use your brain. Then you get killed.
Or, and hear me out, Israel could just not commit genocide.
It’s too late for that. Israel has fucked around. It’s time for them to find out what happens when the U. S. ghosts their genocidal asses.
Nobody wants to die. It takes a lot for someone to risk death to make a statement. It’s a feeling I will never be able to fully understand because I’m not there living this reality with him.
Another way of putting it — saying “be smarter” is like telling a minimum wage worker to stop spending money on lattes and they’ll become rich.
That’s exactly my point. Being smarter means people don’t die…
You’re thinking too rationally. It is nigh impossible to be rational in a situation where you are hungry, tired, and could die at any moment from a drone strike.
What does “be smarter” even mean? Move out of Gaza?
No and I can explain, but this downvoting leads to no desire to do so… :)
Lemmy is awful for discussions actually.
🤷 I wouldn’t fret the downvotes too much. Unlike Reddit it means practically nothing here. It bothers you a whole lot more than it bothers me.
IMO, the least interesting conversations are ones where everyone agrees. When opinions differ, the real tragedy is when we stop listening to the other side.
For what it’s worth, I’m more than happy to keep listening.
I don’t understand the downvotes here. Maybe it’s insensitive to say this just after he got killed, but I don’t want people like this to get killed. I want them to be smart and have a real effect on stopping what Israel is doing here.
