Aside from focusing on their culture war and China, Russia is itself a reactionary state that they probably believe helped get Trump elected (thinking that’s a good thing ofc). Plus Democrats support it, so it must be bad. And maybe a bit of revenge for Zelenskyy not giving Trump dirt on Biden.
