    I’ve seen this on other welcome to madto things and it really bothers me:

    Stop suggesting people join mastodon.social

    SO MANY other instances (including mine) have it either limited or outright blocked because it’s so badly moderated, that a newbie is going to have such a skewed view. And so many newbies fall off and onto other platforms like bluesky because that’s easier than switching instances.

      @[email protected] Very fair point, and typically I avoid that, but I’ve been having some thoughts about the whole “too hard to pick a server” thing recently and how to best address that.

      I won’t get into it much here, but for the time being, I’m just going to switch out the link for instances.social.
