Seems most likely if there was something, it would be the Trumpian types trying to start some kind of “race war”, or a “war against the elites” (the democrat elites instead of the republican elites) and their main opposition would be “the constitution is sacred” democrats. Fascist infighting, but with them trying to drag minorities into the crossfire to further their white supremacist goals and probably try to drag “leftists” into it to further their red scare cold war 2 goals.

The best you will have from these types is that they help support a coup from an internal government faction, then this faction uses the army to crush ensuing protests, leading to mass civil unrest. The trumpian types themselves will do little to no fighting, and the few fools who try will be very quickly killed off.

It’s not happening. I do think there will be more right-wing terrorism regardless of who wins due to anti-immigrant sentiments that both parties are feeding. But the far-right isn’t really organized or in a place to conduct a civil war.

The capitalist class is fine with both candidates. I don’t see a reason for them to finance a fascist overthrow of a system that works for them. Fascist movements can’t get far at all without bourgeois backing.

I am strongly on the side of “the civil war is already happening”. Like, civil cold war, minor skirmishes here and there.

The problem is that it takes two sides to fight a war, and only one side is fighting currently.

The war starts once folks start fighting back.

Please, any and everyone who can, get a gun and learn to use it.

I’m constantly pointing out that the main problem of the USA and civil war is that bad people have weapons and good ones think they don’t need it. That’s why I wish you don’t go to civil war. Too many good people would die and USA would become true redneck fascist state. We need and want good Americans on the planet. Who will solve this shit if not USA? But yes, my friends, arm yourself, your neighbors have tons of guns.

Brother, the country was more of a “powder keg” in the 60s and it still didn’t happen. Americans (Chuds mainly) talk a big game about civil war, but in the end the vast majority are too comfortable (And as another commenter aptly pointed out: lazy) to actually put their money where their mouth is and their lives on the line.

Just because things were more tense and nothing happened doesn’t mean history will repeat, or exactly the same as before. Things are fluid.
