The stroller "speed"run category is the pacifist run turned up another degree of difficulty-- you’re not allowed to run or use strafes. Vytaan records his attempts to work through ep 1 under these conditions.
When I saw this in my suggestion, yeah you can beat doom without running and strafing because I did that when I first play doom.
But your added context of being a pacifist speedrun makes the video more interesting.
Haha, how did you miss the run key? The strafes I can understand because you needed to open the config file to map them to somewhere not in a strange place.
When I first started playing it was keyboard only. Used to play deathmatch like that too. Think I played Duke3d like that as well. I can’t remember what my first M+KB game was at this point–maybe Blood? It might’ve been even as late as Half Life.
I don’t know. Just happened to do it that way.
Nowdays I use wasd and a mouse
My god 1200+ attempts on one stage… some people are built different. I’ve taken on some gaming challenges in my time, some took weeks or months to pull off, but speedrunners take it to new levels. I don’t blame him for giving up on the final stage, after having a <5% success rate on the previous bit IF HE DID EVERYTHING PERFECTLY. That would’ve broken me.
The dude has some dedication to the craft. A few weeks ago I posted part 3 (of the final 7 of 20 hours) of him playing the biggest slaughter map yet made (90000 enemies)
