Good evening everyone.

For people whose mother tongue is not necessarily English, have you watched Stargate in its original version or in a version translated into your language? I watched SG-1 in French and I’m beginning to wonder whether it’s better to watch in French or English. I think I’ve heard that some adaptations aren’t very good. Do you have an opinion on this subject?

    I was introduced to Stargate with Czech voiceover in the TV. Seen episodes in Czech up to 6th season, later got to seasons 7 and 8 in English from a friend. I then rewatched the whole thing in English and I’ve been watching in English ever since.

    The Czech voiceover was really quite good, superb actually. But I’m happy I got to watch the originals - especially Atlantis. I don’t think Dr. Zelenka would be as special with all the other voiceover being Czech as well. I still remember the double take I did when Rodney was asking for “the Czech” and the glee I felt when Zelenka was introduced with the lines in Czech.
