Will it run on ext4 filesystem this time around or are we sticking to weird video drivers only standard to not even all versions of windows again?

This has been long fixed for me but i had a combination of 2 problems getting BL3 to work at all on Arch

#1: Some files like cutscenes and the intro rely on the “media feature pack” which comes native with most installations of windows, people who have windows 10 N have to install this separately themselves. And if you’re on Linux you’re just gonna have to fix something with proton 👍. In the end i never got the intro or the telepathic talking images working but thats pretty much the only issue i never got to fix.

#2 i can not find much details about this any-more but basically the game is sensative when its about the permissions it has to save data. When the installation and the save game data are on different files it can create a problem. If one of those drives is the ext4 format even more so (mentioned at least 2 sites back when i fixed this), oh and it probably didnt help to have parts of proton installed on aforementioned ext4 drive. It probably also doesn’t help to have the game on epic rather then steam because steam supports Linux just more.

Those where great times i tell you. Thank you for making me relive these nightmares. Game is fun though, i just fear the devs are a bit lazy on the technical innovation side.

I’ve played bo3 on arch as well and had no issues at all, however I played it on Steam. I think I’ve used Proton 9 or Experimental to play it. Even co-op worked
