I know it’s a meme, but this was true for me lol. As a huge Souls fan, I actually refunded this game the first time I bought it. I’m so glad I gave it a second chance, though. On my second time around, I gave in to the forced playstyle and the forced parrying (I hate parrying in games), and when I took a little bit of time to learn the mechanics, it was OH so rewarding!

Ofc, the game is not for everyone. But the meme is honestly kind of accurate, at least for me. Once it clicked, I flew through the rest of the game, albeit with some great challenges along the way. It honestly does a great job teaching you necessary mechanics through gameplay and boss fights. And the final boss is one of the best, most satisfying boss fights I’ve experienced in any game. Took me many attempts to win, but it felt amazing when I finally put everything together and did it.

Anyways, this is a bit long-winded for a shitpost, but for anyone on the fence, especially Souls fans, give it a fair shake and remember to play how the game wants you to play (the hardest hurtle to overcome). Really incredible game imo.

Couldn’t agree more. Had a similar experience where it took me three separate attempts over several years to finally persevere and platinum the game. By far my favourite soulslike and favourite game - period.

      Thanks for sharing!
