I guess we dodged a bullet here kinda? An outright acquisition would likely be bad news for FS but as it is right now, I’d expect them to remain mostly autonomous given their recent monetary successes.

    I sure hope they’ll manage to retain their creative license and sane decisions… If Sony starts Sony-ing up Soulsborne games from now on (like they did with HD2 and GoW Ragnarok), we’ll be looking at an EA type situation…

      Sony is the largest shareholder but their stake is only like 10%, they don’t have that much weight to throw around comparatively if there is enough consensus among the other shareholders.

      Not to mention the games component of Kadokawa is likely not Sony’s priority; they’re after that monopoly on anime I bet. Sony already controls the majority of anime streaming, Kadokawa is a juggernaut of anime and manga publishing with a large volume of IP in their vault, and they own Niconico as well.
