If it was an actual parallel to Mexican immigration to the US, people moving mostly for better economic opportunity and becoming part of their new communities, buying homes the way everyone else does, that’s fine and normal, gentrification at worst.

There’s nothing wrong with a white person moving to Chiapas, getting a job, and buying a home, as long as they don’t displace or murder anyone to do it.
