I don’t think that’s what’s meant. It’s not that he set out to do a thing and achieved it; it’s that he set out to do what a child dreamed of but now he’s a grown man.

I admire Madonna, Garth Brooks and Lady Gaga for the same reasons. They all said, “I’m going to do this thing.”, and did it. And they sure aimed high.

Yeah, and it sounds like now he has 50 year old dreams that he yearns for instead.
And therefore… this is an example of the dreams of youth definitely not being the regrets of maturity.
