Viewers had a negative reaction to a CGI effect in Alien: Romulus, so an attempt was made to fix it for home video

Director Fede Álvarez, says he run out of time to get the look of the character Rook completed to his satisfaction. For the home release, he’s apparently spent more money correcting it which according to him, leans more towards the practical animatronic than the CGI face.

    I found the whole movie disappointing, it felt way too disneyesque in its treatment of the originals. So many forced references and unneeded quotes, it distracted and degraded the otherwise decent plot (why the fuck does the android have to quote ripley saving newt? Why does every second shot look like they desperately try to evoke previous imagery?).

    I found the exact same scheme in place when watching the predator remake, it hits way too hard on the reference bag, to the point I could predict certain dialogues.
