    why minimum price and not a higher carbon tax?

    wouldn’t a minimum price mean airlines can’t sell of tickets to half full flight extra cheaply, meaning more half full flights?

      Half full flights leads to less flights overall. As the airlines try to optimise to demand. Making lots of cheap tickets would increase demand.

    Reducing local flights is great and all but you need to have alternatives in place. Affordable, subsidized HSR is the only solution.
