Now that Terunofuji has retired, who do you see taking the top spot next? Maybe Onosato or Hoshoryu? Is it Kirishima’s time to shine and move back up the ranks?
I totally missed the start of this basho… though I’m more interested in Juryo and seeing what happens to Shishi. Can’t wait to see what happens when Shishi inevitably faces Aonishiki…
Well Shishi won, and it looks like Hoshoryu’s in a good place for a potential yokozuna bid if he can keep it up.
Yeah looks like Shishi’s heading back to Makuuchi and Aonishiki’s probably going with him. Be interesting to see how they do.
My problem with watching is that I like to watch live, and in my time zone Makuuchi comes on a bit too late. I can watch it maybe once or twice but if I do that every night then I’m basically useless the next day.
Looks like Teruno has gone kyujo 13 out of the last 21 basho, so it was probably time to hang up the belt, but I’ll miss his monster strength in the ring. I used to love watching Tochinoshin do his forklift thing, but I think even he couldn’t compare to Teruno’s raw power.
