Comparing, visually, today’s modern NBA broadcast and the way things were shot 20-30 years ago; I believe that today’s visual presentation of the league is bland to watch and too brightly lit. I think this takes away from the game a bit because it feels less like the games carry less weight. This is probably a dumb take, but I think the games would look better if you could barely see the crowd and the lighting was more dramatic.

    Yeah probably. Sometimes I’ll tune into a game and it almost seems washed out, like the colors don’t pop out because everything is so overwhelmingly bright.

    But also there’s bigger issues with the game itself that cause the games to feel more bland and like they carry less weight. And on top of that, when Curry and LeBron retire I think the NBA will continue to see declining viewership. The current superstars don’t seem to have the same star power.
