I did some damage on Thursday and doubt I’ll make it through the weekend without another purchase. Already have two items in my cart as of this morning.
I bought nothing. But that’s because I stopped buying games from Steam a few years ago when I got fed up dealing with the Steam client’s UI and other obnoxious design choices like its forcing updates. (Nowadays I exclusively buy games DRM-free.)
However, on the other hand, in the recent DLsite, GOG, and itch sales, I did buy some things.
Good points would like to see more modern games on GoG.
Honestly, I’ve been able to avert most of this year’s brutality by not opening Steam much and focusing on chewing down my physical backlog at the moment, which has been working quite well so far 😅
I got rid of my physical collection a few years ago. It was just too much stuff, especially when it comes to moving. Digital made things a lot easier.
I’ve largely avoided buying physical stuff due to a combination of lack of space and also physical merch being super pricey compared to digital purchases.
I’ve managed to avoid the Summer Sale so far. Been mostly working through my itch.io backlog on the Steam Deck.
Ahh, backlogs. Strangely one of the most effective ways to save money.
I really want a Steam Deck, but I don’t have a need for it. There are a bunch of games I’d like to pick up, but haven’t yet, pacing myself for once :)
How do you play PC Games on the Go? See, you need it.
Laptop >:D
I use to do that, but the Steam deck is easier to fly with. Watch I’ll end up getting a mouse and keyboard for it to not always use the Thumbsticks and this will be a moot point.
Sprung for Dark Souls Remastered this morning, though I already have half a dozen other games on the go and it’ll probably be months before I play it.
I have trouble getting into those games. I don’t have much time and focus more on story games. Maybe when I retire, I can dedicate some time to a souls game.
