As much as it’d be funny for UK politicians to go onto social media and give him wicked sick burns bro, I don’t think it’d do the country any good. Trump is a baby who would happily use the US’s clout as a weapon if his feelings get hurt.
If throwing some nice words to the fat orange rapist is good for the UK, then so be it. Treat him like a toddler who’s made it 8 hours without pissing himself. I don’t like it, but I’d rather the government be pragmatic.
“Haha totally sick burn [politician]” is not worth some mega-powerful manbaby shoving the UK into a recession. I know to some here it might be, but I don’t think those people have their heads screwed on right.
I would say, however, that the UK (and others) cannot rely on the Republicans to be rational, because they aren’t rational. We need to be pursuing closer ties with our fellow European nations.
Exactly this. I very much doubt this is anything but the realpolik that is always going on that is a large part of keeping the country secure and the taps flowing.
