There are some builds here or there posted on XDA, but they all have dead links. I’m still looking around to see if the files can be found on any live hosts, but if anyone has the files to custom ROM any of these… they’re decent hardware and shouldn’t have to be tossed in the ground just because the manufacturers are too greedy to give new Android versions for them.

The D415 is already rooted; none of the others have had any mods done yet. I’m hoping to find potentially a decent build of maybe CyanogenMod, Lineage, Havoc, Pixel, or any of the other quality builds.

I already ran the Droid bootloader code check and Motorola’s site says this one is not eligible to be unlocked. Must have been the typical control-freak contract that Verizon usually does. I guess at that time they wanted to nickel and dime every bit they could with this model. Quite a few Verizon phones were able to be unlocked, though, so with that unit there still could be a possibility. I’m not expecting so, though.

Try searching for them in Telegram.
For some reason, it seems the custom ROM community prefers them to XDA nowadays, and while I think this migration happened much past the heyday of these devices, maybe someone has a retro ROMs channel

      Will do thanks.

I can never understand how people source their operation on a communication platform. It’s happening on Discord as well. No ownership or control; such a dumb thing to do.

Yeah attachments usually don’t last and they’re often linked on some temporary storage share. I will try some posts on there though. Never know.

You could reach out to the people who created the images to see if they still have them. Or if they posted the source, build it yourself. Or, take it upon yourself to build LineageOS for those devices, and save everyone else from throwing theirs out too.

Although, what do you plan to use that many devices for? You might consider donating them as-is if you don’t have a concrete plan.

I usually sell them or if they’re not desirable I either use as a pocket computer (I do tons of stuff) or give away to someone who wants to learn.

I’m not a developer so making my own build is not happening.
