    I’m minimally knowledgeable in this.

They plugged in an email server that was so badly configured that it bypassed the federal email/spam filter to deliver spam to anyone, and they expect users to just trust they haven’t similarly fucked up on anti-spoofing measures?

We’re almost certainly going to see screenshots of spoofed emails from that address.

Which is doubly interesting considering how big of a deal Hillary’s private email server scandal was. I can still hear the “buttery males” whataboutisms from when she was running against Trump.

Who tf uses on prem email servers these days? The big players have made them EoL for years. Microsoft 365 has special government editions for a reason.

Most places don’t use them because anyone on site with a minimum amount of access can fuck with them.

Don’t even have to be on site. Ken K flogged his substack directly to 13k OBM employees from whichever undisclosed location he was in at the time 😄

The same kind of people who are currently plugging unknown hard drives into air gapped governmental agency computers across multiple offices, and according to leaked documents, changing the Government Services Administration to be structured like X (Twitter) against the administrative department’s will.

Not too far off - an out of the blue request to reply “yes” with no reasoning or information included. No header or signature or point of contact, just a .gov out of nowhere probing for activity.

    Amazing.

I’d expect to read this on a computer in a Deus Ex game.
