I am half way through my new game plus run of Metaphor: Refantazio. Hopefully beat the secret boss soon, and then I plan to move on to Persona 5 Royale. Played OG Persona 5 on PS4 a couple years ago, so have a rough idea of what I am getting into.
Almost finished Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to get ready for Pirate Yakuza in a few weeks.
Also picked up The Man Who Erased His Name on sale yesterday, which in retrospect might have been better to play first.
I’m 30 hours in Persona 5 Royal. See you all in 2 months or so.
I’m going back and playing tales of vesperia. One of my favorite tales games and the definitive edition is available on switch so I can play it on the go.
I am about 3 hours into FFVII Rebirth now that it’s available for a platform I actually have access to.
There are things about it that I dont care for, but that was also true of Remake and I had a blast with that game overall. I hope I enjoy Rebirth too.
I didn’t finish anything in January, but I started playing Final Fantasy X on PS2. I have never played it before but I have generally disliked every Final Fantasy I have tried to play before primarily because of its turn based combat and forced random combat.
Its alright so far, but blitzball is not fun. It just seems like the game plays itself and I just press random buttons occasionally. The combat is repetitive but fortunately there is far less of it than other JRPGs I have played so its not so bad. At least for now.
FF8 through FF10 had these optional minigames that some people love more than the game they’re in. Blitzball is probably the most complex, but it’s entirely optional outside of Wakka’s early arc. And even then, you can just lose.
So don’t feel pressured to play Blitzball unless you’re going for 100% completion…which I wouldn’t recommend for your first time anyway.
I eeh played Blitzball for maybe 30 hours. Kinda liked it… And it doesn’t plays itself, manual control is far better…
Trails in the Sky 3rd.
Trails in the Sky SC (2). Well, I finished it for the second time in January.
I probably have to skip this month, usualy i always play one, but this time i play another genre and have for sure not much time. If i really get to one i would either Octopath Traveler II or Tactics Ogre Reborn
I finished ff16 in Jan and found it to be too big of a departure from traditional final fantasy for me. So I’m looking for the next thing to jump into.
I completely forgot i finished ff16 as well. It’s a big departure from traditional ff and it took me more than a year to finish it. Not the biggest fan, but i only played the last 20% in January. The ending was fine.
Yeah I thought the ending was alright. But theh left a lot of potential on the floor by making it the way they did. Lot of good character arcs we won’t get to see for some likely monetary reasons given how great the game looks.
