Daniel Supernault said that the $300k CAD stretch goal is now to build a Tumblr alternative. That brings the goal of the Pixelfed Kickstarter to build four platforms: Pixelfed, Loops, Sup (an encrypted messaging platform) and an unnamed Tumblr alternative, as well as building a foundation and a developer testing kit with Pubkit.
for the love of god finish a fuckin project. loops still doesnt federate and pixelfed just barely coherently.
I personally lost trust in Daniel. Too many broken promises at this point. But the beauty of Fediverse is that, I can just support other projects instead that can still be interconnected, but not dependent on them.
i really enjoyed the enthusiasm at first, but now it just seems like begging for funding for closed-source fediverse adjacent projects
That’s going to give a bad image of the Fediverse as a whole
