We literally never used it or saw someone else use it. None of us knows how it works. If you said “Green Texts” to them, the large majority would have no idea what you’re talking about, and the rest would think of the 4chan ones.
Im from Europe and my first thought was also 4chan memes. Texting was a thing like what, 15 years ago? Everyone uses apps like WhatsApp or telegram. And for it being in a scientific study I thought it’d be in the same vain as people listening to Joe Rogan lmao. I’m finding the android vs iPhone thing even more petty

Is 4chan more well known than apple outside of the US?
Most people outside the US don’t use SMS. I only learnt about the green text thing through reddit, I have literally never heard it mentioned IRL.
Definitely more well-known than iMessage. I have an iPhone and most of my friends have an iPhone but we all use Whatsapp/Telegram.
