      They kind of already have in some cases. See Canada and Mexico promising to beef up their border patrol.

        To be accurate, those were actions they (Canada and Mexico) have either taken in the past or committed to in the past for other administrations. They simply confirmed prior commitments.

        Trump and the state news apparatus acted like this was new and that it was a win. Also promised 30 days without a tariff against them.

        A week later he still applied tariffs on steel and aluminum.

        Which will impact Canada, Mexico, the world, and ultimately the price of a huge segment of goods used or made by American industry.

        They’re also retaliating with equal tariffs.

        We’re alienating allies all over the globe.
