I know, I know. Rumours. They’re just rumours. BUT I WANT IT!
Dual CCDs sucks for gaming, but for productivity tasks I’d really love more cores. A 12 core X3D chip would 100% get me to upgrade from my 5800x3D.
Now I just need it to not cost 1k to get this CPU, a good mobo, and RAM. I swear I will run for president on the single issue of banning Realtek nics.
Ryzen 10800X3D with 12 cores and 24 threads on a single CCD would be nice. Possibly larger X3D cache too since it would have larger surface to accomodate it, but they’ll probably stick with 96 megs.
11800X3D. Even number are toxic in AMDs eyes.
Besides some specific cases (i.e. encoding, intensive calculations, running 1,000 virtual machines or containers) why would one need so many cores on desktop? I get bigger cache. I’d, as a developer, prefer less and faster ones, plus lower power usage.
