Aktshually Article 20 subsection 4 of the German Basic Law gives me explicit leeway to shoot the Führer:

    (4) All Germans shall have the right to resist any person seeking to abolish this constitutional order if no other remedy is available.

    And on his birthday, too!

That is so fucking awesome honestly.

“Hey we had someone try this before, if they try again, you are to stop them by any means necessary.”

Turns out learning from mistakes and history works.

The wording includes an important caveat:

        (4) Gegen jeden, der es unternimmt, diese Ordnung zu beseitigen, haben alle Deutschen das Recht zum Widerstand, wenn andere Abhilfe nicht möglich ist.

        This roughly translates to

Every German has the right to resist those who seek to abolish this [free and democratic] order if no other means are sufficient.

The conservative politicians/judges have watered it down to the point where you can only violently resist them once democracy has already failed.

There’s no need to go around making actionable threats of violence that could be read out in a courtroom, that’s called fedposting. Try this on for size:

If the right keeps pushing, eventually someone’s probably going to feel like their back’s against the wall with no other recourse. For example, if there was, say, a national abortion ban, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone tried to kill the people responsible. Tragic, really, but that’s just the world we live in. Look, I want to do things peacefully, but if I can’t produce results that way, well, it’s not about me, it’s about what’s going to happen if other people lose confidence in my methods.

A prediction isn’t a threat. I’m allowed to speculate about other people doing stuff, aren’t I? Some historical orgs spoke that way, and their predictions could be eerily accurate.

I actually like the idea of giving both Donald Duck and Elon Musty a bunch of laxatives and having them fight over one small bathroom.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk should be assassinated ☺️ 😍 😋 🤪 😇

Wow, just being able to say that when inciting violence is banned on most other social media felt empowering. I know to y’all this probably comes off as just another basic one-liner comment, but… I’ve only recently started using Lemmy when I used to just browse Reddit without an account. There were times when I almost felt crazy, because I felt so much rage against these rapist scum I thought- given the opportunity- I would end their lives in an instant, consequences be damned. But on Reddit where any talk of violence (against the state) is banned (but violence via political persecution of minorities is A-OK!), I thought I was just a radical extremist.

And maybe I am a radical extremist, Lemmy as a whole is certainly small enough to be an echo chamber, but in a time where peaceful protest does nothing but paint a target on your back, free speech by necessity needs to include ushering people to make use of “the 4th box of liberty,” the cartridge box. By god does it feel good to finally be able to say that.

“You know how a popular time travel question is, if you could go back and kill Hitler, would you? People are going to be asking the same about Trump and Musk (and Vance and Thiel and a whole mess of others) if the dust ever settles.”

Just that it may be radioactive dust this time

And that’s the big thing that worries me. In the last world war, even in an all-out war with no holding back, there was a limited amount of damage that could be done to the world and civilization. Today? We have enough nukes to destroy human civilization a dozen times over.

Lmfao, do you live under a fucking rock?

Fascist parties have been gaining power all over Europe (and elsewhere) for ages, and have gotten significantly emboldened and actively backed by him since he became president whatever his dictatorial title will end up being.

Check the username. Also, Western Europe (excluding Britain) is taking this threat pretty seriously if you follow current affairs.

What an odd exclusion to make… The government might not be taking it seriously, but most others aren’t either (and why would they? they serve capitalism, not society). Plenty of the people here (in Britain, in case it wasn’t clear) are just as concerned as the rest of Europe (and the world)…

This is the argument I get in with people in my life. Even my significant other is starting to fall into this trap that “they can’t hold up cabinet selection” due to some misguided notion that holding your nose and being respectful is necessary. I blame coworkers and not wanting to think about something that stresses them out. It is maddening.

Thank you for linking the paper.

Wouldn’t change anything, he only joined an already existing movement and became its leader, but without him it’d simply have been someone else.

Start at the peace treaties after ww1, already make them similar to the ones after ww2 (promoting strong European collaboration to ensure peace instead of punishing the losers).

It didn’t take me long to realize blocking that instance was a good idea. I didn’t know about lemmygrad and hexbear (which federated) until someone from lemmy.world pointed out another user was “brigading”, and looking up how lemmy.world eventually blocked that instance the feeling I have towards lemmy.world is that they act like the “world police” of the lemmy-verse.

nah, click bait question (the meme establishes it’s illegal). You then turn into instigating an argument, “Have balls” means have courage, you added a tone of irritation I assume to establish @[email protected] as a perceived target you wanted to argue with.

If you just cared, you would’ve just had

I care. That’s why i asked. It’s interesting to see how other places differ from my own.

done, finite. But then the little troll comes out

Interesting that irritated you so easily.

So were the statements from gamer triggering to you or were you just looking for an argument already?
