2,162,745 MAUs, to be exact!

And keep in mind, this does not count data from servers that have opted out of indexing, which accounts for another 2M accounts (which may or may not be active)!

    The numbers are down to 1.3M today, which matches Fediverse Observer. So it seems like this was pretty clearly some data problem on the side of Fedidb.

    On the positive side, if Fediverse Observer has been consistently correct, the number of monthly active users has increased every month since October last year. So at least there’s that. :)

    Do I understand correctly that a third of all servers went down in a single month? Is that a normal situation because of people self-hosting and losing interest again? Or should we be alarmed?

      FediDB stopped crawling for a while to add support for robots.txt. The server drop-off is probably mostly because many are opting out of being crawled.
